I wanted to drive off into the sunset. But I realized that if I'm there, in the car, driving, I wont see myself disappearing into the sun, I'll just be driving, and then it'll get dark, and I'll still be driving...
ya, but if all you want to do is watch the sun go down then stopping at the side of the road will technically be no different than driving and watching it.
i know tess, I know. I was being humoretical. Irony in the sense of light heartedness, satire, exposing the all-too-human tendency to take things seriously with laughter... I'm making light of the dramatic tone of my epic impulses.
"Three in the morning. I realize this second, then this one, then the next: I draw up the balance sheet for each minute. And why all this? Because I was born. It is a special type of sleeplessness that produces the indictment of birth."
